The Band Steele is made up of high school friends, Bo Steele and Ben Rubino. They began playing music together at age 14 in Winston County, Alabama.
Bo and Ben achieved a tremendous amount of Internet attention, when a video of Bo singing in a hospital waiting room went viral. It has reached millions of views and is still garnering incredibly inspiring positive comments daily. The pair had their television debut on WHNT News 19 in Huntsville, Alabama where they had become local celebrities. They were also featured on the “Rick and Bubba Show”, a nationally syndicated radio talk show, where their music was aired and chosen as “keep it”, a radio success!
The duo caught the ear of industry executives including independent record label Fire River Records, who signed them to a multi-album record deal.
Additionally, the label secured Bo Steele a role in a motion picture, Life on the Line, starring John Travolta, Kate Bosworth and Sharon Stone. This fantastic opportunity allowed him to perform an original song “Good Times” from their new album in the movie, which was released on November 18, 2016.
The band’s involvement in the movie Life on the Line, inspired them to record a song honoring linemen and their families, called “The Lineman”. The song and video have received much acclaim and support internationally.
The Band Steele has performed at NASCAR races and major media events, where Bo Steele has been featured singing the National Anthem and God Bless America live on national television networks, such as Fox Sports 1.
On September 16th, 2016, Tan Lines & Moonshine, their debut country EP was officially released featuring the debut single “Tan Lines” which has been featured on several best new country music radio shows, and received play on over 200 stations nationally. Another original, “Sit Awhile” has become an anthemic tribute to the United States military and their families, receiving engagement from millions of fans online.
2017 has seen a huge spike in social media following and The Band Steele has been invited to perform at notable music festivals, where they will be taking the stage with the top artists in both country and rock music. In February, the duo was awarded a prestigious sponsorship from the legendary D’Angelico Guitar Company. On October 20, 2017, the full-length album Moon in a Mason Jar, was released, with the single “195”, a ‘musician’s anthem’, gaining immediate radio airplay. The duo is currently traveling the country performing on a national radio tour.
