THE BAND STEELE GET HONEST ABOUT LIFE ON THE ROAD IN GRITTY NEW ‘195’ VIDEO [EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE]

The Band Steele have just filmed a new video for their current single, “195,” and the duo are letting Taste of Country readers see it before anyone else.

Bo Steele and Ben Rubino co-wrote “195,” which appears on their debut album, Moon in a Mason Jar. The song offers fans a look at the stark realities of the life of a touring musician. In “195,” the protagonist’s love has left because she can no longer deal with the darker side of his life on the road.

“The way this song makes me feel / I’ll feel for the rest of my life / Now these main stage lights / They don’t shine so bright / Put my guitar in the case / I keep your picture inside / Last thing I saw was your face / It’ll be a hell of a ride / Back to a home that ain’t the same / Without your car in the drive / My angel packed her wings / And left down 195,”they sing in the chorus.

“It’s tough being on the road. The opportunity is awesome, but it comes with a cost — the time we sacrifice away from loved ones,” Steele admits. “You have to be emotionally and mentally strong for the people at home.”

The Band Steele teamed with director Marcel Chagnon for the “195” video, which they shot along Highway 195 in their home state of Alabama, as well as at various Nashville locations. Chagnon and Craig Campbellboth make cameos in the video, which gives fans a raw, gritty look at the offstage realities of touring.

The Alabama natives felt it was essential to return home to capture the authenticity they were looking for in the “195” video.

“It was important to us to shoot segments of the video from Alabama Highway 195,” Rubino says. “It’s a lifeline that runs in and out of our hometown — lots of memories and heartbreaks live on that road.”
